In the middle of the Indian Ocean, miles east of Kenya and miles north of Madagascar, is an archipelago of 115 islands so beautiful that the first British explorers thought they had stumbled upon the Garden of Eden.

Although remote, the Seychelles attract visitors from all over the world who come for a romantic and exclusive getaway. After all, there are few places on earth more isolated than this cluster of heavenly islands.

 

The Seychelles is best known for its pristine beaches and its blue seawaters so clear that you can look right through the water. But there is more to the Seychelles than its natural beauty and its wildlife. The main island of Mahé - where the capital Victoria is located - has beautiful French and British colonial architecture, open-air markets, museums and a vibrant nightlife. And the islands are full of amazing resorts and the best seafood coming straight out of the ocean.

Particularly famous in the Seychelles is the beach of Anse Lazio on the island of Praslin, known for its clear blue waters and its native takamaka trees.

Far from the beach in Praslin lies the Vallée de Mai Nature Reserve. A thick green jungle, in which you will find many primitive species of plants and animals that have remained isolated from the rest of the world ever since the islands were formed. Once there, try to catch a glimpse of the black parrot of Seychelles, found nowhere else on Earth!

The island of La Digue is known for the Anse Source d'Argent beach: a beautiful beach filled with precious granite rocks coming out of the water.
